About Intracytoplasmic sperm injection

ICSI is a specialised form of IVF that may be considered after clinical evaluation in situations such as:

• Low sperm count The sperm count and motility are low which prevents the egg fertilization.
• Weak sperm If sperm is not strong enough to penetrate the eggs, then ICSI helps with it.
• IVF failure ICSI may be discussed after fertilisation difficulties in a previous IVF cycle.
• Surgical retrieval ICSI is used in surgically retrieved sperms in men with no sperms in ejaculate.
